Bypass Yahoo Messaging Port Blocking
This guide was tested using Pidgin (a multi-protocol instant messaging client) and will only work on firewalls that used ports to blocked yahoo instant messaging protocol.
Here’s how to do it.
1. Open Pidgin instant messaging client and click “Accounts -> Manage”.
2. Click on Add or select the account to modify. When the properties or “add account” window is opened. Click on Advanced tab.
3. Under the Advanced tab, look for the Pager port field. By default, the pager port is set to 5050. Change pager port to 80. Why we used port 80? well, simply because port 80 is the HTTP port used for browsing or surfing the internet and is most of the time (if not always) allowed to pass through the firewall.

4. Click Save and try to connect.
